Taking a break...

Just taking a break from watching ABC's coverage of the Centennial Running of the Indianapolis 500....been a great race so far.

Anyway, I thought now would be a good time as ever to publish a post since it's been a week.

Here goes nothing:  Recent appointments by Pope Benedict XVI include:

*Appointed Fr. Mikael Mouradian, ICPB, a priest of the Institut du Clerge Patriarcal de Bzommar, Superior of the Convent of Notre Dame de Bzommar, Lebanon, as Eparch of Our Lady of Nareg in New York for Armenian Catholics.  Fr. Mouradian replaces Bishop Manuel Batakian, ICPB who retired.

*Appointed Msgr. Robert Dwayne Gruss, Rector of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Davenport, IA, as Bishop of Rapid City, SD.

*Appointed Fr. Donald Hying, Rector of the Cathedral of St. Francis de Sales in Saint Francis, WI, as Auxiliary Bishop of Milwaukee, WI.

Responses to letters include (from the past week):

Vicki Morris of Speedway Gas Stations and Convenience Stores in Springfield, OH; Rita S. of American Dairy Queen Corporation in Minneapolis, MN; Leigh Diffey from SPEED Channel in Charlotte, NC; Kelli S. of Applebee's in Lenexa, KS; Fr. Steven Gallagher, a newly ordained priest of the Diocese of Juneau, AK and assigned to Holy Name Parish in Ketchikan, AK; Jeff A. Samayo of Papa Murphy's in Vancouver, WA; Fr. Patrick Armano, Pastor of St. Monica Parish in Methuen, MA; and finally, Craig Culver from Culver's ButterBurgers and Frozen Custard in Prairie du Sac, WI.

I also received a letter from a dear friend, Necole Flanigan, also known as Sr. Ana Therese of the Holy Face of Jesus, OCD at the Carmelite Monastery in Traverse City, MI.

God bless y'all!

Christopher
