I sit here nine days until vacation, and I apologize for not making any posts recently. My reader wants me to expand, including adding snippets of the repondents letters and post pictures of places I go. I'll begin doing that with the next post I make, which will following my vacation in early July. I'm starting a bit of the respondent's replies today as you'll see below.
The respondents are:
Fr. Donald Casey, a priest of the Diocese of San Bernardino, CA, and Homebound Minister at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Henderson, NV--He's retired Navy medical doctor of all things. Sent me a four page reply. Fr. Robert Stellini, Pastor of Holy Angels Parish in Dyersburg, TN--the parish was affected by the Mississippi River flooding. Parke Schalon on behalf of Chick-Fil-A Restaurants in Atlanta, GA. Fr. John Kirk, KHS, Parochial Vicar of St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Wilmington, DE. Fr. Dennis P. Bombardier, a priest of the Diocese of Springfield, MA--he spoke about his medical condition, a stroke which left him paralyzed on his left side and his desire to be a priest from when he was seven years of age. He mentioned he cannot get much sleep and stays up and recounts his ministerial memories in a tape recorder. Br. Patrick of the Franciscan Brothers Minor in Fort Wayne, IN--the brothers use the year 1223 Franciscan consitutions with the 1536 (or so) adaptations. Fr. Michael Christensen, Pastor of St. Peter Parish in Lincoln, NE--he included a link to his liturgical photo gallery on the parish website. Moira Benton, Principal of Pope John Paul II Elementary School in Chicago, IL--she said it was nice receiving something other than a bill, haha. Fr. Vernon Stapenhorst, Pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Wells, NV--Father Verne offered to assist in anyway he can regarding my discernment and he just celebrated 50 years of priesthood for the Reno Diocese. Fr. Joseph Culotta, Pastor of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Birmingham, AL--the parish donated two truck loads of supplies to tornado ravaged areas of Northern Alabama. Fr. John E. Worgul, an Anglican priest in Westminster, MD--hes entering the Anglican Ordinariate in American when established. Fr. Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Milton, LA and Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Lafayette, LA--he said that vocations can only be discerned when we are faithful to Christ and the Church.
