Taking a break...

Just taking a break from watching ABC's coverage of the Centennial Running of the Indianapolis 500....been a great race so far.

Anyway, I thought now would be a good time as ever to publish a post since it's been a week.

Here goes nothing:  Recent appointments by Pope Benedict XVI include:

*Appointed Fr. Mikael Mouradian, ICPB, a priest of the Institut du Clerge Patriarcal de Bzommar, Superior of the Convent of Notre Dame de Bzommar, Lebanon, as Eparch of Our Lady of Nareg in New York for Armenian Catholics.  Fr. Mouradian replaces Bishop Manuel Batakian, ICPB who retired.

*Appointed Msgr. Robert Dwayne Gruss, Rector of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Davenport, IA, as Bishop of Rapid City, SD.

*Appointed Fr. Donald Hying, Rector of the Cathedral of St. Francis de Sales in Saint Francis, WI, as Auxiliary Bishop of Milwaukee, WI.

Just an update...

I know the title may seem bland and uninteresting, however, with a pounding head due to a sinus infection, my first in two years, it's not my most creative time.

I am sure you'll forgive me as I plan to just post some response updates and shut off for the night.  E-mails, etc. can wait until tomorrow.

Recent responses are as follows:  John Whitaker, Area Supervisor of White Castle Hamburgers in Rahway, NJ; Fr. Jean C. Robitaille, M.Afr., of the Missionaries of Africa in Washington, DC; Msgr. Thomas Coogan, Pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Bay Shore, NY; Fr. Edward Kelty, a priest of the Diocese of Ponce, PR, serving as a Canon Lawyer at the Vatican (who sent me three Bl. John Paul II cards and a relic of Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta); Adrienne Mitchell, Administrative Assistant at Honey Dew Donuts in Plainville, MA; and Fr. Cedric Pisegna, CP, a priest of the Congregation of the Passion in Houston, TX.

Talk soon, y'all.

God bless,

Christopher

From the Vatican Information Service:  Pope Benedict XVI has removed Bishop William Morris of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia for heterodox beliefs--ordination of women and optional celibacy.  Please pray for him and the Diocese of Toowoomba. His letter to parishioners is attached as a .pdf.
